Sticky Toffee Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3/4-1 c. chopped dates
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 t. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar (for sauce)
  • 3/8 c. h. cream (for sauce)
  • 2-4 T. butter (for sauce)
  • 1/2 t. vanilla (for sauce)

Instructions

Step 1
Pour 1 1/4 c. boiling water over dates in small pot & bring to boil. Remove from heat, add soda, & let cool a bit.
Step 2
Cream butter & sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Stir in flour, then dates.
