Ingredients
- 3/4-1 c. chopped dates
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 t. vanilla
- 3/4 c. brown sugar (for sauce)
- 3/8 c. h. cream (for sauce)
- 2-4 T. butter (for sauce)
- 1/2 t. vanilla (for sauce)
Instructions
Step 1
Pour 1 1/4 c. boiling water over dates in small pot & bring to boil. Remove from heat, add soda, & let cool a bit.
Step 2
Cream butter & sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Stir in flour, then dates.
